About Me

I'm originally from Ghana, West Africa. I've been living in Turkey since 2010. I finished my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Istanbul Sehir University. I worked as a Teaching Assistant for programming course in Python during my junior and senior year. I also had the opportunity to do my internship at Turk Telekom, one of the biggest Telecommunication companies in Turkey. I enjoy coding and learning new languages.

As a part time English teacher, I taught students from all age groups. I attended activity lessons for young children around the ages of 7 and 13. I also had grammar lessons for adult students whose ages started from 15 and above. I have taught students in levels including elementary, pre-intermediate, and upper-intermediate. I also had one-on-one speaking lessons where I mostly focused on teaching my students how to speak English more fluently.

During the spring semester in 2017, I was assigned the duty of a teaching assistant (TA) for Programming Practice course in Python in my university. As a TA my duties included; preparing weekly quizzes and grading them, tutoring students in weekly practice sessions to help them gain a deep understanding of the practical aspect of programming and implementation of some programming concepts, conducting office hours where I helped students solve problems they had with their mini projects and carrying out plagiarism checks for mini projects. Not only did this help me gain a more profound knowledge about the subject, it also helped improve my teaching, programming and analytical skills.

During the fall semester in 2018, I was assigned the duty of a teaching assistant (TA) for Introduction to Programming course in Python in my university. As a TA my duties included; preparing weekly quizzes and grading them, tutoring students in weekly practice sessions, conducting office hours where I helped students solve problems they had with their mini projects or general questions about programming and conducting interviews for mini projects. As an introductory course, this helped strengthen my fundamental skills in programming, improved my teaching, presentation and analytical skills and also helped me gain a more profound knowledge about the subject.

I worked as an intern at the IT department of Pendik Municipality where I wrote Python scripts and developed a system monitor application for the department.
